This is not an unheard story. It’s not really a breakup album either. Rather, it’s the oldest tale there is - love, pain, realisation, survival. It’s an expression of balance. It’s the harvesting of fruits that could only grow taller and stronger by coming through rain and sun together.

It’s the first song bursting out of the soul on a clifftop in Devon. It’s the writing-because-you-have-to. It’s layers and layers of metaphorical meaning, if you want to look for them, or it’s a set of momentary emotional experiences that pass, as all things must, leaving behind a cathartic smile.

It’s a shoestring budget. It’s a handful of borrowed microphones and a reel-to-reel machine in a little basement analogue studio in Bristol. It’s the clicking of flute keys, the creaking accordion bellows, and the audible distortion of overexcited tape. It’s a snapshot of a collective DIY creative experience, the moment as a group of musician-friends found each other through the darkness of one songwriter’s pain, and together created a raw and honest album that we hope brings balm to bruised hearts and hope to claustrophobic souls.

One of my favourite albums of the past couple of years. A truly original sound I can't really pigeonhole with other bands. Brilliant musicianship from all, soaring vocals - I think I once heard it described as 'an intoxicating mix'. Short tracks but they pack so much variation into a couple of minutes - lyrical to grunge choppy chords in a few seconds. Brilliant. Chris Shaw

For me, Morning Jigsaw is easily the best album. Their solid tight musicianship is enhanced by the fantastic vocals only found on this collection. It’s rare to find an original, sounding band, with something magical. This album has got it. Title track and The King alone are more than worth the price of an album.
